Neste espetáculo a história de Cinderela é contada sob a ótica dos palhaços Lasanha e Ravioli em uma circunstância especial: trata-se de uma estreia. Dessa forma, através de um conto conhecido pelas crianças aborda-se também o universo do teatro e tudo o que ele envolve: o cenário, os figurinos, a luz, a sonoplastia, a relação com um público, o nervosismo de uma estreia, as confusões de coxia, o prazer de atuar e a enorme solidariedade necessária para que tudo isto aconteça.

A História de Catarina

Lasanha e Ravioli estão arrumando suas coisas, depois de uma temporada em um teatro, para seguir viagem. Quando estão saindo, descobrem que há público no teatro, e que ele está lá para assisti-los em uma peça chamada A História de Catarina. Começam, então, a improvisar, e apresentam uma adaptação completamente livre de A História do Califa-Cegonha, de Wilhelm Hauff. O espetáculo discute a busca e o confronto com o novo, a curiosidade natural da infância, a necessidade do risco e suas consequências.

A História de Topetudo

Os palhaços Lasanha e Ravioli vão ao teatro e, lendo o programa da peça, se dão conta de que o espetáculo será apresentado por eles. Encenam então A História de Topetudo, adaptação livre do conto de Charles Perrault, onde um príncipe muito feio e inteligente se apaixona por uma princesa bela e burra. O espetáculo apresenta às crianças uma história que, apesar de situada em reinos distantes e tempos longínquos, discute um tema sempre atual: o que é belo, o que é feio? Por que belo, por que feio?

Lasanha e Ravioli in Casa

Lasanha e Ravioli, começam a ensaiar seu novo espetáculo. Entre vários contos, escolhem Chapeuzinho Vermelho. O espetáculo mostra através do conhecido conto de Charles Perrault, o processo de criação de um espetáculo, a dedicação e prazer envolvidos nisto, a liberdade de pensamento e seus resultados, sem abandonar o enredo do conto original.

Lasagna and Ravioli’s Opening Night

In this piece the story of Cinderella is told from the point of the clowns Lasagna and Ravioli as they prepare for opening night. This well-known story is enacted while exploring the world of theater and what it involves: sets, costumes, lights, sound, the relationship with the audience, opening night jitters, the tumult in the wings, the pleasure of acting and all the cooperation necessary to make it all happen.

The Story of Catherine

Lasagna and Ravioli are packing up their things to go on tour after a performance season. As they are leaving the theater they realize that there is an audience waiting for them to perform a piece called The Story of Catherine. They begin to improvise and put on a show loosely based on The Story of Califa-Cegonha, by Wilhelm Hauff. The piece looks at the pursuit of and encounter with newness, childhood curiosity, and the need for and consequences of risk.

The Story of Topetudo

Two clowns, Lasgna and Ravioli, go to the theatre and when they read the program they realize that they are the ones putting on the show. They put on a play of the Story of Topetudo, a loose adaptation of the story by Charles Perrault, in which an ugly, intelligent prince falls in love with a beautiful and dumb princess. Although the story is set in a long ago and far away kingdom, the children in the audience are presented with timeless questions: What is beauty? What is ugly? Why is something beautiful? Why is something ugly?

Lasagna and Ravioli at Home

Lasagna and Ravioli start to rehearse their new show. Of all the stories they know, they choose Little Red Riding Hood, the well-known folk tale by Charles Perrault. The piece illustrates the process of creating a show – the dedication and joy, the freedom of thought and its results – while remaining true to the original plot.

Puss in Boots or Lasagna and Ravioli on the Road

Lasagna and Ravioli put on Puss in Boots intertwined with the theme of a theater piece on tour. The story of Puss in Boots is told concurrently with the story of a show on the road, building sets, organizing costumes and props, the activity backstage and in the ticket office and finally, the commotion and mishaps, the problems, solutions and pleasures of a pair of clowns working with their partners on the stage.

(Puss in Boots or Lasagna and Ravioli on the Road)

Ana Barroso and Monica Biel have been working together since 1990. Over the years they have developed a particular performance style. They make use of a variety of resources such as masks, puppets, costumes and accessories, music and most importantly, an open and playful participation of their young audience. Ana and Monica’s performances combine the telling of a tale with the showing of the circumstances of the performance itself, allowing an unpretentious look at fairy tale suggesting new views and bringing then closer to the audience. Their shows have been received with critical acclaim and have won various prizes and nominations.
These shows form part of the pair’s repertoire which they perform.
